How did the slanderous word "pigs" come about for police?

It has nothing to do with kevlar. It was around when kevlar was in its experimental stage. It originated as a derogatory term in common usage in the late 1960s as part of the anti-establishment counter culture. I know they have been calling me a pig since the early 70s. It's no big deal anymore.
