So I have a question about area 51?

We all know about Area 51. Some people say the government is testing special air crafts there or some people say there are alien corpses there. But has anyone ever thought, if Air crafts are really the case, the government could have just told us that? Why are they being so hush hush about it if that's all that's going on? Has anyone thought that? Opinions?
