Confidentiality?? Gossip at work?

A guy at work has been spreading bad rumours about me, i send him a nasty msg on facebook. He forwards it to my regional manager who fwds it to mgrs.. Im getting asked into the office for this while he sits laughing.. i am so annoyed at his slanderous words about my private life.
